My sister put three pieces in the
'Art for the Heart' show last weekend. She went on Friday, and was followed around and harassed by one of the other artists, and since Saturday was her daughter's birthday couldn't go spend the day there again. She wasn't expected to anyway.
But now... She's been leaving messages with the coordinater since Monday to find out how to get her artwork back. Today she called and apparently the artist that was harassing my sister on Friday took her pieces home with him 'for some reason'. The coordinater doesn't even KNOW! But she had a family emergency, and so she just let him. He's been trying to get my sister's contact info from the coordinater since the weekend.
The icing on the cake.
They BROKE at least one of the PIECES! All the coordinater said was 'You have my apologies, but at least one of your pieces got broken when we were taking stuff down.' That's it. 'I'm sorry, one of the art pieces that you entrusted to us for the show was carelessly dropped and broke. Better luck next year.' And NOW, my sister has to contact the guy who was harassing her to retrieve her artwork. I can't believe it. She doesn't even know what to do now, and I'm not sure either... I hope she doesn't have to take it to small claims court, but I think she should. Of course she doesn't want to, she's having enough problems with court & lawyers with her deadbeat ex. Ugg.
