27th-Dec-2005 09:26 pm - The worlds most annoying toy
scorp

In the year 2006 I resolve to:

Take over the world.

Get your resolution here

The first thing I will do is find the inventer of this toy so I can lock him in a dungeon for eternity with a thousand of these (?) equipt with batteries that never die!

WTF is this supposed to be?

simulated motion of the demon wheel

I can only come to the conclusion that this toy was created with the sole purpose of driving parents insane! It's bad enough that it's just a wheel, a lone wheel, a lone possessed wheel, with no car, no game, no purpose other than to roll around, back and forth, and flash lights.

But that's not the annoying part.

It whistles.

It whistles an insanely creepy tune, one that I'm convinced is emitting a high frequency subliminal message telling you to chop up everyone you encounter into little pieces with an axe. One that makes you want to tear off your ears and jump around the house screaming. I wish I could add sound to that picture, but I actually like most of you ;p

Ethan got TWO for Christmas.

Hurrah.

I hope you all had a wonderful time... I notice from my friends page a few of you made out like bandits :p c'mon, it's not the reason for christmas, but we all love presents!

My christmas was hectic as usual, but aside from the drama generated by a few family members it was a fantastic couple of days, though I'm more than a bit disappointed that I'm stuck at work today. I haven't missed boxing day dinner @ my aunts since I was born :(

I don't want to make this too long because no one will read it! I'll keep to the highlights :)

* We spent Christmas eve at my mother-in-law's, Roman's grandmother gave Ethan the most annoying toy EVER! I will elaborate on this later in another post... when we got home my sister was showing me 'The Annoying Thing Game' she bought for my oldest daughter Cheresa. I told her that it wasn't as bad as what Ethan got from his great grandmother, and there was no way she could top that because it was the most annoying and creepy toy in the world. Then she pulled out the 'coolest' (her words) toy that she bought for Ethan. Anyone want to take a guess at what it was? Clearly it is the most annoying toy in the world because I was right, she couldn't top it.

* Christmas Day started at 6am after 3 hours of sleep. We used to have 29 people come here at 7 for christmas breakfast as was my grandparents tradition that we took over, but now we rent a hall for the whole day and have a breakfast/drop in/dinner plus a huge free 'silent auction' with some big prizes, this year the grand prizes were a flat screen 20' TV & a water cooler.

My 8 year old MARISSA won the TV!!! It was so cool! Last year I didn't win anything, so I got to pick from the rejects left on the table :p but this year I won a picnic backpack with wine glasses/plates & cutlery for 4 & a fishing rod... good thing Marissa put her name in all the fishing lures & hooks because she thought they were pretty.

The whole day can be summed up as follows:

[2am drama]
[sleep]
[opening presents]
[hauling]
[cooking]
[drama]
[dishes]
[cooking]
[dishes]
[visiting]
[dishes]
[packing up from the hall]
[visiting]
[dishes]
[winning prizes!]
[dishes]
[visiting]
[drama]
[dishes]
[hauling]
[cleaning]
[putting away all the food]
[drama]
[collapsing]

There was eating here and there too :p

This morning it looked like Chrismas threw up on our house. So after several hours of cleaning up the Christmas vomit, everyone went out for more dinner drama and I am stuck home at work.

Good times.

16th-Dec-2005 09:45 pm - Friday Poll & stuff
scorp
I was going to ask you if anyone else is having trouble reading their friends page... for some reason LJ feels I don't need to see any new friends entries. Since it's likely, that if you are having trouble viewing your friends page, you won't see this; I suppose it's fairly pointless to ask.

Did I miss anything?

This weekend is going to be busy! My cousins (who haven't been here for 8 years) are coming in tomorrow for a week! That and finishing the christmas shopping, and then wrapping all this stuff... I'm going to be busy for awhile.

On to the polls...

I'm not messing with my layout anymore until next year. I wanted to have my links glow and my scrollbar red and white but I can't get them to work using S2, even though 'smooth sailing' has a place for CSS overrides. My icon turned out pretty nice... it's making me want to put up our tree already :)

I feel all Christmassy! Even though it's going to be a 'super' tough year for most of my family. Last year they were still in shock, so this year is going to be like a 'first'. I'm still in high spirits, I want to make some shortbread cookies & have some eggnog and peppermint schnapps with a candy cane in it... maybe this weekend when I'm writing out christmas cards. Speaking of which, if you haven't filled out this poll with your address, I can't send you one; if you filled out your address without a name (and I don't already know it) it will be addressed to your livejournal name. So go do it! Or not. Whatev.

Oh, one more thing. Definition of Irony, the piece that fell off the table and broke, was titled "FALLEN".
